تمنا قلبِ مضطر کی نبی کے در پہ جاؤں میں
My restless heart yearns to go to the Prophet (PBUH)
جو حالت ہجر میں دل کی ہے ان کو بھی بتاؤں میں
I want to convey to Him (PBUH) the state of my heart in this separation
چلوں جب میں مدینے کو لبوں پر ذکر ہو ان کا
My lips will be engrossed in His (PBUH) praise when I travel to Madinah
وہاں پہنچوں تو ان کی نعت ان کو ہی سناؤں میں
And when I reach there I want to recite His (PBUH) praise before Him (PBUH)
سنہری جالیاں چوموں تو دیکھوں سبز گنبد کو
I wish to kiss the golden screen and see the green dome
رہے آرام یوں دل کو سکوں بھی خوب پاؤں میں
This will give immense rest and peace to my heart
در و دیوار طیبہ کے لگاؤں اپنے سینے سے
I will rest my chest against those pure walls and doors
مدینے کی جو مٹی ہے اسے سرمہ بناؤں میں
I will gather the dust of Madinah and make kohl from it
فدا میں مصطفیٰ پر اور فدا میں آل پر ان کی
May I be sacrificed for Mustafa (PBUH) and His (PBUH) progeny
یہی خواہش ہے تن من دھن سبھی ان پر لٹاؤں میں
It is my wish to give up my all for Him (PBUH)
صحابہ سارے برحق ہیں خدا راضی ہوا ان سے
All the Companions (RA) are true, may ALLAH be pleased with them
اگر ہو شک اِدھر آؤ تمھیں قرآں سناؤں میں
And if you are in doubt, come and hear me recite the Quran
الٰہی ہے دلِ خالد میں یہ ارمان مدت سے
O Lord, Khalid has this wish in his heart for long
مدینے پاک گر جاؤں تو پھر واپس نہ آؤں میں
If I make it to Madinah may I never return
