Our Second Caliph, Umar (RA), was great and remains so

وہ نورِ ایماں کا ایک دھارا کمال تھا وہ کمال ہے وہ

That one stream of the light of faith, was great and remains so

خدا کے لشکر کا وہ سپاہی بہادری کا دَھنی عمر تھا

That soldier of God’s army, filled with courage

عمر نے دیں کا عَلم ابھارا کمال تھا وہ کمال ہے وہ

Umar (RA) raised the banner of the faith, was great and remains so

وہ آدھی دنیاکابادشاہ تھافلک بھی کرتاتھانازاس پر

Ruler of half the world, even the heavens were proud of him

عمر نے اسلام کو نکھارا کمال تھا وہ کمال ہے وہ

Umar (RA) graced Islam, was great and remains so

عمرسے ابلیس خوف کھاتاعمر کی رہ سےوہ ناگزرتا

Iblees was afraid of Umar (RA), he never crossed his path

عمر کی ہیبت کا یہ نظارہ کمال تھا وہ کمال ہے وہ

This sight of Umar’s (RA) dread, was great and remains so

عمرتھاعادل عمرتھاحق گوعمرکاپیشہ تھاحق گواہی

Umar (RA) was just, speaker of the truth, his vocation was honest testimony

عمر تھا انصاف کا کنارہ کمال تھا وہ کمال ہے وہ

Umar (RA) was the edge of justice, was great and remains so

یتیم مسکین کا وہ حامی بڑا رحم دل وہ باوفا تھا

A supporter of the orphaned and helpless, great in mercy and loyalty

عمر تھا جود و سخا کا تارا کمال تھا وہ کمال ہے وہ

Umar (RA) was the brightest star of goodness, was great and remains so

عمر پے جاں ہے فدا ہماری غلام اُن کا ہے زینؔ یہ دل

Our lives be sacrificed for Umar (RA), this heart, O Zain, is his

عمر ہے ہمکوخُدی سے پیارا کمال تھا وہ کمال ہے وہ

Umar (RA) is dearer to us than our own selves, was great and remains so
