What is lacking, O Master, in your way?

دنیا تیری گلی میں عقبیٰ تیری گلی میں

The world and its end lie in your path

دیوانگی پہ میری ہنستے ہیں عقل والے

Wise men laugh at my madness

رستہ تیری گلی کا پوچھا تیری گلی میں

I asked for directions to you standing in your path

دیوانہ کردیا ہے دیوانہ ہو گیا ہوں

I’ve lost my senses to no end

دیکھا ہے میں نے ایسا جلوہ تیری گلی میں

After seeing the sights in your path

کس طرح پاؤں رکھتے یاں صاحبِ بصیرت

How could discerning men step foot here

آنکھیں بچھی ہوئی ہیں ہر جا تیری گلی میں

People have spread out their eyes in your path

امجد کو آج تک ہم ادنیٰ سمجھ رہے تھے

We presumed Amjad to be inferior all this while

لیکن مقام اُس کا دیکھا تیری گلی میں

But saw his true stature in your path
