اِلٰہی میں تجھ سے دعا مانگتا ہوں
O Almighty! I pray to You
مصیبت میں صبرو رضا مانگتا ہوں
I pray for patience and Your approval in hardship
لہو سے میں سینچوں چمن زندگی کا
I nurture the garden of my life with my blood
میں محنت کا اپنی ثمر مانگتا ہوں
I pray for the fruits of my hard work
کریں رشک جس پر کہ اسلاف میرے
That which my ancestors may envy me for
وہ شعرو سخن کا ہنر مانگتا ہوں
I pray for the gift of such eloquence
اِلٰہی میں تجھ سے دعا مانگتا ہوں
O Almighty! I pray to You
مصیبت میں صبرو رضا مانگتا ہوں
I pray for patience and Your approval in hardship
نہیں مال و دولت کی مجھ کو تمنا
I do not desire wealth and possessions
تیری رحمتوں کے گہر مانگتا ہوں
But the pearls of Your blessings
میں دنیا کے محلوں کا طالب نہیں ہوں
I do not wish for the palaces of this world
ہو جنت میں گھر یہ دعا مانگتا ہوں
I pray for a home in Paradise
اِلٰہی میں تجھ سے دعا مانگتا ہوں
O Almighty! I pray to You
مصیبت میں صبرو رضا مانگتا ہوں
I pray for patience and Your approval in hardship
شفاعت نبیؐ کی ملے روز محشر
May I receive the mercy of the Prophet (PBUH) in the Hereafter
میں رحمت کی بس اک نظر مانگتا ہوں
I pray for just that one blessed glance
یہ جنت مبارک رہے زاہدوں کو
To the noble spirits may Paradise belong
تیرے دید کی اک جھلک مانگتا ہوں
I pray for the sight of You
اِلٰہی میں تجھ سے دعا مانگتا ہوں
O Almighty! I pray to You
مصیبت میں صبرو رضا مانگتا ہوں
I pray for patience and Your approval in hardship
تو ہر وقت توفیق توبہ عطا کر
May You always grant me the privilege of seeking forgiveness
گناہوں سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں
I pray to stay away from sins
بھٹکتا رہا ہوں اندھیرے میں اکثر
I have often strayed in the darkness
ہدایت کی اب میں سحر مانگتا ہوں
I pray now for the dawn of guidance
