میں غیروں کی الفت میں ڈوبا تھا مولا
I was drowning in the love of strangers, O Master
ترے در سے جب میں بچھڑ کر گیا تھا
Since I separated from your house
جہاں کی میں دلدل میں بھٹکا تھا مولا
I’ve been wandering in the quicksand of this world
سہاروں کی لالچ نے مجھ کو پھنسایا
I was lured away by my greed
تَخَیُلْ کی دنیا میں چھوڑا تھا مولا
I left for the world of imagination
اُمِیْدِ سحر کی میں چاہت میں گم تھا
I was lost in the desire for a new morning
سحر کی طلب کا میں پیاسا تھا مولا
I was yearning for seeing that dawn
میں غم دل کے سارے سناتا ہوں مولا
Let me tell you all the pain in my heart, O Master
میں در در کی چوکھٹ پے رہتا تھا مولا
I have been to every doorstep, O Master
میں اپنی ہی مستی میں گم ہوگیا تھا
I was lost in my own enjoyment
نویدوں کو تیری میں بھولا تھا مولا
I had forgotten all your warnings, O Master
یقیں اب کسی پر ذرا بھی نہیں ہے

مرا مان سب نے ہی توڑا تھا مولا
Everyone has betrayed my trust, O Master
میں تاریک راتوں میں بھرتا تھا آہیں
I used to lament throughout dark nights
حقیقت میں رحمت کا بھوکا تھا مولا
In reality, I was hungry for mercy, O Master
میں لا تقنطو کو یوں پڑھتا تھا مولا
I used to recite “Do not feel hopeless” like this
خفا ہوکے اپنوں سے بکھرا تھا مولا
I was shattered after falling out with my relations
مسرت میں تیرے میں در پر نہ آیا
When I was blissful, I didn’t come to your doorstep
تکبر کی چادر میں لپٹا تھا مولا
I was wrapped up in my own arrogance
ندامت کے آنسو ہیں خَم میرا سر بھی
I have tears of shame and my head hangs low
خطا زین کی تھی تو میرا تھا مولا
Zain was in error, You alone were mine, O Master
