عشاق کی نیندیں غائب ہیں

The lovers are sleepless

وہ رات کواٹھ اٹھ روتے ہیں

They stay up and cry all night

کچھ وقت کو ضائع کرتے ہیں

Some waste their time

کچھ سجدے میں ہی ہوتے ہیں

Some bow their heads in prayer

جو عشقِ مجازی سے غافل

To them worldly love is unknown

اور عشقِ حقیقی کے عادی

They only know of sublime love

وہ رب کو راضی رکھتے ہیں

They keep their Lord satisfied

آنسو سے خطاء کودھوتے ہیں

They wash away their sins with tears

جس قلب میں دنیا بستی ہے

The heart which follows the world

بس حرص و ہوس کی ہستی ہے

Is only filled with greed

انجا تباہی پاتے ہیں

Their end is only destruction

پھر چین و سکوں کو کھوتے ہیں

They lose their peace and contentment

دنیا کی یہ چاہت فانی ہے

The love of this world is transient

گویا کہ عمر گوانی ہے

Running after it is merely wasting one’s life

ذی عقل گناہ سے بچتے ہیں

The wise stay clear of sins

کردارمیں اعلیٰ ہوتے ہیں

And are of upright character

گر سچی محبت رب سے کرے

If one truly loves their Lord

دنیا بھی ملےعقبیٰ بھی ملے

They get the world as well as Paradise

ایمان کی موت پہ مرتے ہیں

They die being true to their faith

آرام سے قبر میں سوتے ہیں

And rest peacefully in their grave
