والدِ محترم آپ سے پوچھیں ہم
Respected Father, I ask you about
بیٹیوں کی قدروہ ہیں کیوں محترم؟
The worth of daughters; why are they respected?
مجھ کوبتلائیں کیوں پیار بیٹی سے ہے
Tell me why do you love your daughter
ہےخوشی میں خوشی اسکےغم میں ہےغم
Why your happiness lies in her happiness and why her sorrow makes you sad
اے میری بیٹی ایسا بھی اک دور تھا
O my daughter, there was once a time
ہر طرف ہرجگہ جہل کا زور تھا
When ignorance ruled everywhere
بیٹا پیدا ہو توتھا خوشی کا سماں
People rejoiced when a son was born
بیٹیوں کی قضا زندہ دَرگور تھا
But daughters were doomed to a life worse than death
کیا نہیں ہے اے بابا یہ ظلمِ صریح
O father, is this not a grave crime?
کیا وہ انجان تھے ہے غلط یا صحیح
Were they unaware of right and wrong?
ان کو آتا نہ کیونکر تھا خوفِ خدا
Why did they not fear God?
اور کیسے مٹی انکی رسمِ قبیح
And how did this shameful practice end?
عار کرتے تھے محسوس اہلِ زماں
The people of that time used to feel shame
کیا صحیح کیا غلط ان پہ تھا سب عیاں
They well knew what was right and wrong
ظلم کی ساری تاریکیاں چھٹ گئیں
All the darkness of cruelty was dissipated
آئے جب مصطفیؐ رحمت ِ دو جہاں
When Mustafa (PBUH), the blessing for the two worlds, arrived
آئے پیارے نبیؐ لے کے احکام کیا
What commands did the dear Prophet (PBUH) bring?
اس جہاں کو دیا تھا وہ پیغام کیا
What message did he give to the world?
کیسے بیٹی کی ہو پرورش تربیت
How did he ask people to raise their daughters?
اور اس پر ملے گا وہ انعام کیا
And what reward would such people get?
جس نے کی بیٹیوں کی صحیح پرورش
Whoever raised his daughters well
اس سے کی ہو محبت نہ کی سرزنش
And whoever loved them, and did not treat them harshly
اس کے بدلے میں پائے گا باغِ عدن
In return he will get the Garden of Eden
اس کو نہ چھوئے گی نار کی بھی تپش
The heat of the fire will never touch him
آپ کا میرے بابا سہارا بنوں
May I become your support, Father
آپ کےہی لئے میں جیئوں اور مروں
May I live and die for you
میرے بابا نصیحت بھی کیجئے مجھے
O Father, please advise me
میں کروں کیاکیا اورکیاکیا میں نہ کروں
What should I do, and what should I not
میری بیٹی یہ باتیں میری یاد رکھ
My daughter, remember these words of mine
زیب و زینت سے خود کو تو ناشاد رکھ
Do not seek joy in adornment and beautification
جس نے بخشی تجھے یہ حسیں زندگی
He who has blessed you this beautiful life
اس کے ہی ذکر سے دل کو آباد رکھ
Adorn your heart with His praise
میرے بابا مجھے اور بتلائیے
O Father, tell me more
مجھ کو جینے کا بھی ڈھنگ سکھلائیے
Teach me how I should live my life
اپنے رب کا ادا شکر کیسے کروں
How should I thank my Lord
کس ڈگر پر چلوں وہؐ بھی سمجھائیے
And what path should I always follow
میری بیٹی نہ کرنا بغاوت کبھی
My daughter, do not rebel
ہوگا ناراض رب اور ناخوش نبیؐ
The Lord will be angry and the Prophet (PBUH) disappointed
اور بناتِ محمدؐ کے پیچھے چلو
Walk behind the daughters of Muhammad (PBUH)
حق کا اشعر نے جانا ہے رستہ یہی
This is the one true path that Ashar has learned
