آفتاب رسالت طلوع ہونے دو
Let the sun of Prophethood rise
ظلمتوں کا جنازہ نکل جائے گا۔۔۔۔۔
And Cruelty’s funeral shall be taken out
اے صبا میرے محبوب کے پاس جا
O wind, go to my Beloved
اُن کی وَالّیل گیسوں ذرا چوم آ
Kiss his tresses that are dark as the night
دیر ہو اُن کی تشریف لانے میں اگر
If he is yet to arrive
اُن کی خوشبو سے ہی کام چل جائے گا ۔۔۔۔۔
Then his fragrance will be enough
اُن کی دیدار کی آرزو نہ کرو
Do not yearn for a glimpse of him
اُن کے چہرے پہ اچھا ہے پردہ رہے
It is better to let the veil over his face remain
اگر نقاب اُن کی رخ سے ذرا ہٹ گیا ؟
For if it were to be withdrawn ever so slightly
طور کیا یہ جہاں سارا جل جائے گا۔۔۔۔۔۔
What of Sinai, the whole universe would be ablaze
