عارضی ہے یہ مکاں اصل منزل قبر ہے
This home is temporary; the real destination is the grave.
بے بقا ہے یہ جہاں اصل منزل قبر ہے
This world is fleeting; the real home is the grave.
خاک ہوگا یہ بدن اے مرے نادان دل
This body will turn to dust, O my naive heart.
موت آٸیگی تجھے یہ حقیقت جان لو
Death will come to you—accept this truth.
سب یہاں رہ جاۓ گا بات میری مان لو
Everything will be left behind—heed my words.
ساتھ ہوگا بس کفن اے مرے نادان دل
Only your shroud will go with you, O my naive heart.
نفس اور شیطان کی رہ خدارا چھوڑ دو
Leave the path of desire and Satan, for God’s sake.
مصطفٰیؐ کی راہ لو غیر سے رخ موڑ دو
Follow the path of Mustafa (PBUH), turn away from others.
خواہشوں کو کر دفن اے مرے نادان دل
Bury your desires, O my naïve heart.
غمزدہ “ہمدرد” کی بس یہی فریاد ہے
The sorrowful “Hamdard” has only this plea,
تیری خواہش کے سبب آدمی برباد ہے
Man is ruined because of his desires.
ٹھیک کر اپنی چلن اے مرے نادان دل
Correct your ways, O my naive heart.
