مجھے یاد آتے ہیں کردار ماں کے
I remember the character of my mother,
تڑپ کر رلاتے ہیں ایثار ماں کے
Her selfless acts still make me weep with longing.
مجھے اپنے ہاتھو کھلاتی رہی ہے
She fed me with her own loving hands,
مجھے لوریاں وہ سناتی رہی ہے
She sang me lullabies to put me to sleep,
مجھے شِیر اپنا پلاتی رہی ہے
She fed me her own milk with love and care
تھپک کر مجھے وہسلاتی رہی ہے
She gently patted me to sleep every night.
بہت یاد آتے ہیں افکار ماں کے
I deeply miss my mother’s thoughtful ways.
میں ہوں کون مجھ کو بتایا اُسی نے
She was the one who told me who I am,
مجھے پہلا کلمہ پڑھایا اُسی نے
She taught me the very first words of faith,
مجھے تیز چلنا سکھایا اسی نے
She taught me how to walk with strength,
مجھے ہر ضرر سے بچایا اسی نے
She protected me from every harm.
محبت بھرے پیار اظہار ماں کے
Such is a mother’s loving expression.
نہ بھولی ہے مجھ کو کہانی ابھی بھی
I still remember her stories to this day,
جواں دردِ دل کی زبانی ابھی بھی
Even now, I hear the pain of her young heart in her voice.
ترا ہر عدو مثل خاک ہو گیا ہے
All your enemies have turned to dust,
تری مسکراتی روانی ابھی بھی
But your smiling grace still flows like before.
معطر مطہر ہیں رخسار ماں کے
My mother’s cheeks were fragrant and pure.
ترے بن ہمیں کون اب ہے سنبھالے
Who will care for us now without you?
ترے بن نہ ججتے ضیاء کے اجالے
Even the daylight doesn’t shine the same without you,
ملا ہے نہاب تک ترا کوئی ہم سر
No one has ever matched your place,
میسر نہیں ہم کو تیرے نوالے
We no longer have the taste of your loving meals.
افق سے تھے اندازِ معیار ماں کے
A mother’s standard touched the horizon.
وہ بچپن کے دن اب نہ آئیں دوبارا
Those childhood days will never return again,
پھروں تشنگی سر بسر مارا مارا
Now I wander thirsty, from place to place,
دیا مجھ کو اس نے تھا جیسے سہارا
She once supported me like no one else could,
رحم کر میری ماں پہ واللہ خدارا
O God, by Your name, have mercy on my mother,
لکھے دردِ دل فانیؔ اشعار ماں کے
